As part of Uwiano’s participation in the 4th Annual Devolution Conference, a free medical camp was held on 6th March 2017 at Nyayo Gardens, in Nakuru town to help provide the much needed health services to the community members while facilitating Uwiano’s visibility through peace messaging. Medical services provided were; general check-up and treatment, laboratory tests and counseling. In order to enhance visibility of the platform, the participants were sensitised on Uwiano and its mandate through one on one conversations and sharing of education materials. Besides, there was a caravan that went round Nakuru town to enhance the publicity efforts through public announcements.

Key partners that supported the activity included; the Nakuru County Government, Zambezi Hospital, Council of Governors, Kenya Medical Supplies Association, the Amani Counseling Centre, Beyond Zero Campaign, Rose Hospital and Egerton University. Through the medical camp, Uwiano reached at least 500 members of the public thus making a positive impact in the community as it also sought to sensitise members of the public on the need to uphold peace during the upcoming General Elections.
