In a vibrant display of collaboration and commitment, peace stakeholders from Mombasa and Kwale Counties converged on 28th March 2028 at the Kenya Coast Tourism Association, for an in-depth engagement that marked a significant milestone in their journey towards sustainable peace and development.
The groundwork for this partnership was laid by the Sustainable Partnership between the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), the prestigious Zayed Award winner, and ForumCiv Eastern & Southern Africa. Through their concerted efforts, Mombasa and Kwale Counties were positioned strategically to support youth, women, and vulnerable communities.
Led by Zayed Award winner, Shamsa Fadhil, the meeting was attended by representatives from Manyatta Youth Entertainment, including the Executive Director, Mr. Nicholas Songora, NCIC Principal Program Officer, Mr. Mohammed Hamisi Babaa, and Senior Program Officer, Mrs. Hanifa Mohamud Khalif, the recent gathering was nothing short of impactful.
Hosted at the Kenya Coast Tourism Association Boardroom in Mombasa, the hybrid meeting was a platform for robust discussions and strategic planning. The leadership team prioritized a comprehensive review of Community Peace Activism, emphasizing its role in resisting extremism and fostering a culture of peace and understanding.
