The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) led by Principal Corporate Communications Officer, Rosemary Were joined the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for a vibrant breakfast launch at Nairobi's Sarova Stanley Hotel on Wednesday 17th April 2024. The event celebrated World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, observed annually on May 17th to honor the founding of the International Telecommunication Union, the UN's specialized agency for ICT. This also marked the launch of the 2024 KUZA ICT Awards themed "Innovation For a Sustainable Digital Future," set to take place in June 2024.

In the last seven years, CA has hosted the Annual KUZA Broadcasting Awards to recognize and fete excellence in the broadcasting industry. From stakeholder feedback, the Authority has this year enhanced the scope of the awards to encompass the ICT sector, to make it more impactful.

The launch saw the unveiling of the updated ICT KUZA Awards logo. The awards slated for June 2024 will be a culmination of the revamped ICT week, with various thematic award categories namely; Broadcasting, Postal and Courier, Green ICT, Telecommunications, Child Online Protection and Safety, People’s Choice, Lifetime Achievement and Women in Tech. Public voting for the People’s Choice Category begins on 22nd April, 2024.
