Towards Finding Lasting Peace in Sondu Region.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) supported by Pamoja for Transformation Trust (PFT) and the Free Pentecostal Fellowship in Kenya (FPFK) held a consultative meeting aimed at fostering lasting peace in the conflict-stricken region of Sondu. The meeting which was held on 2nd and 3rd May 2024, was spearheaded by NCIC Chairman, Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia, alongside Commissioners Hon. Philip Okundi and Hon. Abdulaziz Farah. It sought to establish a unified approach among the political class toward the ongoing peace processes in the Sondu region.
The meeting brought together Governors from Kisumu and Kericho Counties, Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and Dr. Erick Mutai, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), and County commissioners.
Deputy Director Public Outreach and Engagement, Mr. Killian Nyambu guided the participants through a reviewed roadmap for the Sondu Peace Initiative.
