Mr. Ronald Mwiwawi, Deputy County Commissioner of Kamukunji officially opening the peace forum on Wednesday, 11th September, 2024.
On September 11, 2024, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) participated in a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) stakeholders' peace engagement forum, represented by Program Officer Derrick Maina. Organized by Mr. Ronald Mwiwawi, Deputy County Commissioner of Kamkunji Sub-county, the event provided a platform for collaboration in the public transport sector.
As Mr. Mwiwawi officially opened the forum, he emphasized the need for peace and harmony in the industry, crucial for service delivery as vital as the wheels that keep public transport moving. The meeting brought together representatives from all PSV Saccos in the region, creating a space for open discussions about the challenges they face, much like a roundtable of shared experiences and solutions.
In his remarks, Mr. Derrick Maina underscored NCIC’s mandate to promote peace, likening the importance of collaboration within the sector to the way gears work together in a well-oiled machine. He noted that such engagements reflect NCIC's commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence across various sectors, particularly within the essential public transport industry, as they strive to promote national unity and harmony.
