The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has formalized a partnership with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) to foster peace and national unity. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the KBC headquarters in Nairobi, on 19th February 2025 marking a significant step towards implementing the Trans- generational Conversation Framework. This strategic alliance brings together the NCIC, focused on national cohesion, and KBC, the national broadcaster, with a shared goal of leveraging media to build a cohesive and peaceful Kenya. This partnership highlights the importance of media as a critical tool for promoting understanding and collaboration within communities in Kenya.

NCIC Ag. CEO CPA Harrison Kariuki expressed his gratitude to KBC for partnering with NCIC in this vital initiative. He emphasized the potential of the Trans-generational Conversation Framework to bridge divides and promote understanding across different generations, fostering a more inclusive and harmonious society.
Ms. Agnes Kalekye, the Managing Director of KBC, warmly welcomed the partnership and highlighted the critical role the media plays in shaping public discourse and influencing perceptions. She affirmed the national broadcaster’s commitment to leveraging its extensive reach and diverse platforms to amplify the message of peace and facilitate meaningful dialogues.
The collaboration between NCIC and KBC will involve the development and implementation of various media initiatives, including town hall sessions, public service announcements, documentaries, talk shows, and community outreach programs. These efforts will aim to create spaces for constructive conversations, promote empathy, and address issues that trigger social tensions. The partnership aims to give a platform for conversations that yield political decency and accountability in Kenya, a testament to the shared vision of a united and prosperous Kenya.
