Joseph Kingori Nguyo is a Commissioner of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), appointed in May 2026. He brings over three decades of experience in education, public administration, leadership, and mentorship.
Commissioner Nguyo holds a Master of Business Administration from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, a Bachelor of Education (Arts) Degree from Moi University, and a Diploma in Education Management from the Kenya Education Management Institute. He has also undertaken advanced leadership and management training at the Kenya School of Government through the Transformative Leadership Course, the Strategic Leadership Development Course and the Senior Management Course, and holds a Certificate in Strategic Performance Management from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), Dubai.
Previously, Mr. Nguyo served in senior leadership positions in both the education and public service sectors. He was a high school principal for twelve years, where he led institutions to academic excellence and national recognition. He later joined the Public Service Commission and served in various State Departments for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration where he served as a Senior Deputy Secretary. Most recently, he served in the State Department for Investments Promotion as the Head of Administration and Chair of the Revitalisation Committee for the State Department Regulatory Authorities. He also served as an Alternate Director at the Special Economic Zones Authority.
At NCIC, Mr. Nguyo contributes extensive expertise in leadership, strategic management, public administration, mentorship, and stakeholder engagement. His experience in managing diverse institutions and fostering collaborative leadership strengthens the Commission's efforts to promote national cohesion, peaceful coexistence, inclusion, and good governance across Kenya.
