Commissioner Jackson Swadi Kedogo is a seasoned governance and public administration professional with over two decades of dedicated service in elected office and community development. He brings to the National Cohesion and Integration Commission a deep understanding of grassroots governance, conflict resolution, and social cohesion built across two counties and multiple levels of government. Commissioner Swadi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Management from KCA University and a Diploma in County Governance from the same institution. He has also undertaken advanced leadership training at the Kenya School of Government through the Transformative Leadership Course and is a Certified Governance and Leadership Professional. He also holds a Certificate of Theological Education from the Organization of African Instituted Churches and is a Certified Mediator, having completed mediation training offered by NCIC in 2020.
His public service career spans nearly two decades of elected leadership. Between 2007 and 2012, he served as Councillor for Mathare Mabatini Ward in the Nairobi City Council, where he also chaired the Transport and Disaster Management Committee. In that role, he contributed to the establishment of an early warning system for disaster response in Nairobi, a legacy that continues to benefit residents of the city. From 2013 to 2022, he served as an Elected Member of the County Assembly for Kabwareng Ward in Nandi County and chaired the Public Investments and Accounts Committee of the County Assembly of Nandi. Throughout his career, Commissioner Swadi has championed initiatives that uplift communities at the margins. He has designed and implemented programmes targeting youth and women empowerment, trained youth leaders in conflict resolution, and driven peacebuilding initiatives that promote social cohesion at the local level. His approach to governance is grounded in the belief that lasting peace begins with empowered communities and accountable institutions.
