Bishop Dr. Kepha Nyamweya Omae is the Chairman of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), appointed in May 2026. He brings extensive experience in leadership, organisational governance, faith-based community development, and human resource management spanning over three decades of distinguished public and professional service.
Bishop Dr. Omae holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organisational Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University, awarded in 2025, a Doctor of Philosophy from United Graduate College and Seminary, USA, awarded in 2010, and a Masters in Leadership and Organizational Development from Pan Africa Christian University, obtained in 2011. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Jabalpur University, awarded in 1989, and Honorary Doctorates in Divinity and Humanities conferred by United Graduate College and Seminary, USA.
Prior to his appointment, Bishop Dr. Omae served as a Senior Pastor of Liberty Christian Centre, Nairobi, a position he has held since 1990. In 2026, He was sighted for the World Civility ICON AWARD for spearheading peace and reconciliation in the Church sector. He was further affirmed into the office of Apostolic Leadership by the Five Star Ministerial World Alliance, USA in 2025. He previously served as General Overseer and Presiding Bishop of Redeemed Gospel Church Inc. from 2011 to 2025. In 1999, He was appointed the National Director of World Evangelism of Kenya, whose headquarters is based in San Diego, California. Earlier in his career, he served as a Personnel Officer at Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation from 1990 to 1996, as a Lecturer at Universal College in 1990, and as a Senior Clerical Officer in the Ministry of Energy and Regional Development from 1982 to 1986.
Bishop Dr. Omae has served in numerous leadership and governance roles, including as a Board Member of the Lake Basin Development Authority from 2004 to 2006, Chairman of the Kenya Coalition of Church Alliances and Ministries (KCCAM), National Director of World Evangelism of Kenya, Chairperson of the Kenya Bible Translation Trustees Board (KBTT), Board Member of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK), and Member of the Advisory Councils of Life Ministry Kenya and the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum. He is also a Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
He has received numerous honours, including a Peace Award from the International College of Peace Studies in 2021. He has authored several publications on Leadership, including Understanding Seasons of Change and Nuggets for Transformative Leadership, and has contributed scholarly articles on succession planning and church growth published in the East African Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences.
